Alert: 3rd Party Validation puts consumers at risk!
Qchex.com has suspended its internet software service and implementation of 3rd party validation pending the outcome of its ongoing appeals case.
Based on the disputed FTC order, internet services transmitting information entered by users may soon need to forward such data and sensitive user
information to unrelated 3rd Parties for multi-level “validation”. While obviously ineffective to disable or eliminate fraudsters, 3rd party
validation would put consumers at increased risk. Sensitive User data in 3rd party possession can cause severe harm if lost, stolen or misappropriated.
As the example service “Internet Check Writing” (e.g. Qchex.com) shows: Illegitimate users can easily reach the Finish line despite validation (see below).
Net result: Validation causes increased costs, excessive inconvenience, intimidation and increased ID theft risk for legitimate consumers!
Redirected Users can use widely available tools (PC software, check paper, inkjet/laser printers and US postal service)
as functional alternative – NO validation!
